I stayed at Hotel UYUT (“Уют”) in Almaty, room 612, from 05.02 to 11.02. On 10.02, during my active stay, I discovered the loss/disappearance of my personal property — FURLA sunglasses (approximately ~500 USD). The sunglasses were inside a paper bag placed in the entrance area of the occupied room (not in a trash bin). The room had not been checked out. During my stay, access to the room was exclusively granted to hotel staff as part of daily housekeeping. Key facts: 1. The administration refused to document the incident (incident report) prior to the arrival of the police, despite the fact that the situation occurred on hotel premises during an active stay. 2. When I reported the issue, staff behaved rudely and aggressively. Instead of assisting, they resisted and attempted to shift responsibility onto the guest, requiring me to prove what had happened. 3. Due to the hotel’s refusal to properly register the complaint, I was forced to call the police. A statement was officially accepted, and a review of the circumstances and video recordings was conducted. 4. After the police arrived, an internal service report was prepared by a hotel employee. However, after the police left, the security officer at the reception desk, in the presence of reception staff, demonstratively tore up/destroyed this document when I asked for it to be stamped. Photos of the document have been preserved. It is also important to note the hotel’s position: instead of attempting to resolve the situation or offering even minimal apologies, staff suggested that the item may have been “disposed of as trash,” despite the fact that it was personal property located in an occupied room. As a guest, my conclusion is simple: when staff have access to your room, your belongings may disappear, and when seeking assistance, you may encounter resistance and aggression rather than protection. The absence of transparent procedures, the destruction of an official service document, and the lack of formal apologies or reasonable proposals for compensation/resolution are serious warning signs. I am writing this review as a warning: if you choose this hotel, document everything, do not leave your belongings even in a bag near the entrance, and be prepared that in case of a problem you may have to involve the police to receive a response. Safe, friendly and well located in Almaty

Safe, friendly and well located in Almaty. Was there for two nights as a start into my Stan-States trip and was not disappointed. After a late-night-arrival flight the reception was still manned and checkin no problem in the middle of the night. Location is good as a stating point for a walk into the city. Breakfast was sumptious and with a lot of local flavors. Would recommend

The only experience in my Kazakhstan trip that was bad.

Last week when I was in Kazakhstan the first three days I was at the Holiday Inn Express and i had a great experience. My tours in Almaty were great. The people in Almaty were nice BUT there is one experience I've had that was not good. And that was staying at Hotel Uyut. Now I want to make one thing clear to anyone who reads this review. My family (3 of us were adults and 2 child) and I wanted to try different hotels including a local one which is why we spent half our stay at the Holiday Inn Express and the other half at Hotel Uyut because it was at a good price even though it was more expensive than the Holiday Inn Express. Now getting back to the review. When we entered the hotel we were greeted well but it almost felt like I am lucky I'm getting the room even though I had pre-booked it but I had to pay when I was checking in. I make the payment and get the room. Now here come the issues: 1. On our first day we ran out of toilet roll. We had to call reception and ask for it because they dont have a line to house keeping. We were told that house keeping had already placed toilet roll that would be enough. I told them I wouldn't be calling if there was enough. 2. On our second day at the hotel after we arrived in the evening after dinner we found that they had left only 3 towels in the room. The day before when we checked in had received 4. So I decided I'd call them in the morning and ask them to send one up. I do this in the morning and tell them I have to leave in an hour with my whole family. An hour passes by and we gave them a second call but the towel never came. 3. The night before we were departing I spoke to a man at the reception and told them that we would depart the hotel before breakfast and if they could helpbus with it. He said yes but I told them that all ofbus were vegan and he showed us a sign of irritation and called the restaurant. I got the breakfast packed the next morning but that's not the kind of experience i want from someone at the front desk right to my face. The only good points were the room we booked was more spacious than it looked in the pictures and the breakfast was decent. Thats the only reason I'm giving this place a 2 star review. Other than that I dont need to see from people working at a hotel that theyre obliging me by giving me a room or any kind of service at all. Ibhave visited Almaty once before and at that time my stay at another local hotel a little more close to the airport was far better than what I received here. For the price they charged me which was more than Holiday Inn Express which is a brand i would expect better service which was not provided. My suggestion would be to stay here at your own risk. The price isnt worth the service you'll get.

Extremely Bad experience of Hotel Uyut - Almaty

Very Bad Experience at Hotel Uyut- a bad patch in our Kazakasthan travel” Extremely unemotional, un- welcomming staff right from reception to Resturant staff & needless to say Housekeeping & cleaning staff. The hotel is also very Average. It seems as if they were doing us a favor to let us stay there . Irritation was a constant reflection on their face. More than providing service & making Guests feel welcomed & comfortable they were more concerned to charge money for anything & everything & damarages & compensations (god knows for what) & why . Guests are constantly told & everywhere there are boards & even in the room a complete list of damages & compensation ......so disturbing to see as a guest ..... Resturant staff , rude , they refuse to serve food beyond a certain time , even though the resturant is open & operational. They should know how to treat guests Cleaning staff doesnt clean the room till evening & guests have to wait outside for rooms to be cleaned till 6pm , when the guest has gone to a hotel to relax .....but are made to stand outside the room .....strange None of the staff had a smile on their face ...not even once ..... this is really very bad service & more than that very very bad vibe & atmosphere ..... If on a beautiful trip otherwise you dont want to have any bad memories ...please dont book this hotel ....there are far better hotels at the same price or even cheaper seriously dont know why the staff is like that

It was OK.

Way too hot in the room! It was unseasonably mild (in the 20s) and the hotel were reluctant to turn the central heating off. Room was unbearable at times as they wouldn’t issue air con remotes but did send maintenance up to switch central heating off after asking more than once as radiators in rooms didn’t have valves. Bathroom heated rail wasn’t switched off so it was uncomfortable. Too noisy outside to open windows at night for lengthy periods. Breakfast was fine and staff were friendly enough. A good base to explore the wonderful city.
