A welcoming, tranquil 'home away from home' surrounded by nature. Situated a stone's throw from the river. House neat and clean on arrival. Lovely large open-plan living space - light and airy with spectacular views of the Breede river and mouth. Well furnished with plenty of beachy decor touches. Comfortable couches. Large telly. Good lighting, creating a lovely ambience at night. Indoor built-in braai. Kitchen well equipped, all appliances in excellent condition. Spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds. Good value for money. Will definitely be back soon. Charming, simple, comfortable - a Must for those in need of R&R!

WOW! WOW! WOW! Absolutely all you need and more!

What a PLEASURE is what I can say. From the moment you unlock the front door you feel it. Spacious, well decorated and equipped, and simply lovely. We were just two but there was ample space for ALL and more. We love our fishing along the west coast and all the way through to Jeffreys Bay, BUT this HAS to be our new favourite spot .... for fishing ... YES, but definately the best place we have ever stayed at. Initially booked for 3 nights but ended up extending because we just could not get enough. Whatever you want to do ..... Cook, braai, relax on the couch in front of the TV or read a book, this HOME away from HOME, has it all. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is a washing machine and dishwasher too. The rooms are really comfortable and spacious, AND the beds are great. Best sleep I had in years. The owner, Sylvia was absolutely fantastic at giving every bit of information about the house and this lovely town to make our stay even more comfortable. She was a star and is always a phone call away. This is absolute value for money and I will never stay anywhere else in and around the Breede River. ANCHORS AWAY is my NO 1 and if you are looking for comfort and a homely break away from home, you will not be dissappointed AT ALL. As long as it is not when we would like to go AGAIN! :-)

Thank you for an amazing holiday! The house is very well equipped for a comfortable, warm, hassle free holiday. The views are stunning. Fishing very poor this time of the year and we would love to return some day to try and catch the "big one that got away"! Lovely walks and lots of whales in the bay.

Anchors Away

I went to Anchors Away for 3 days. It was the relaxing break that I needed. The house is one of the most comfortable that I ever stayed in. It has all the luxuries of home and the living areas are big, airy and comfortable. The magnificent views from the front rooms are amazing. I sat on the sofa and watched the whales playing in the waves with my binoculars. The natural beauty and abundance of birds and dassies were charming. If you want to just unwind, this is a holiday you will not forget.

Wonderful home, awesome views

This house is very well-equipped, and the agent that drops off the keys is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The kitchen is a pleasure, with everything you could need. The indoor braai area is stunning, with windows overlooking the river and the beach beyond. Everything was neat and clean, and ready for us on arrival. The DVD player is a little temperamental, with static / feedback making the audio quality bad, which we discovered only because we had some bad weather, and it's not a major issue. Everything else was incredible!
